OpenRSi solves MC issues

OpenRSi had some problems with MediaCenter since May.

They have rebuild MediaCenter and gave it a small makeover.

Quote from sattommy:
Yes executable is based on the one used in AZPlay now..which was based again on the ones we used in MC.

However some enigma2 stuff changed over the passed 2 months..so my executable stopped working. Instead of re-coding the whole executable we are using the one from Azplay now, because we hope it stays maintained.

For now, MediaCenter is included in the AZBox Me and miniMe images.
AZBox HD should follow shortly.

Here are some screenshots.

Fundraising makes things possible which Opensat let go

Two weeks ago we wrote about the Fundraising:

After, in vain, trying to get in contact with DT innovation, German AZBox users have launched the idea to raise money to purchase AZBox receivers.
These receivers will then be handed out to developers, hoping they will and can make firmware and plug-ins for the 1st and 2nd generation AZBox receivers.
If it is really going to be fundraising is still unclear, but the idea is discussed on myazbox.de

Now there  are some results!

AZBox Titan

There is a lot of mystery at DTinnovation. Sales-rep gone, no direct address for repairs, no replies on e-mails, and so on.

Surprisingly enough, news has gone all over the world that a new AZBox receiver is in the making: the AZBox Titan.
For now, there are only specs, photo’s and video on the internet.
No one, other then the OpenAZBox team has seen the Titan. Samples were motherboards, probably just a proof of concept.

So far, no one has seen the Titan live, but the hype has begun.

The suggested street price would be between € 140,00 and € 160,00

The OpenAZBox team received some samples with 2 remote controlers. The default one (the right one on the photo), and an additional one equipped with microphone and working with Skype. Some features of the additional RCU are Gyroscope, Acellerometer and vibration.

During the test the OpenAZBox team was able to use the additional RCU as a joystick for playing games.

UPDATE SERVER IS BACK ONLINE : AZUPD.EU

Great news on this Friday evening! ITcetera: Thanks!

We quote:

AZupd.EU has re-installed the update server, so everyone is able again to update their AZBox HD receiver with the official firmware. We have also included several plugins that were available for the official firmware.
AZupd.EU is an initiative of ITcetera, founder of azboxshop.eu.
The idea behind it: Offer every AZBox owner the possibility to update their receivers on-line, free of any charge.
As the update server became well known, people were asking to also offer plug-ins and add-ons through this same server. And so a plug-in- and add-on server was born as well.
But then came the piper. Opensat went bankrupt, users were left in the dark, HTCE Limited bought the brand AZBox, DTinnovation began selling AZBox receivers to anyone that wanted it.
Since there is still a large AZBox community that seeks support for their beautiful receiver, ITcetera decided to revive the update server and is now offering the same service azupd.eu is well known for, and more!
AZupd.EU will bring news, Tips & Tricks and new firmware, released by other teams.
We hope, you will enjoy this service and will find it useful.
