A short history timeline of Android on AZbox ME

At the beginning ( and still ) Opensat advertised with Android on the AZbox me. But when can we enjoy Android and does it still comes? There seems to be a lot of questions around Android, so here's a little bit of history:

Yes, android will come on the AZbox ME. On the Anga show in 2011 Opensat had some alpha examples with   Android on the AZbox ME ( with a nice working remote with touchpad ;-) ). We could even play with it. In may 2011 we took this pictures of the proof of concept with Froyo:

Even in August 2011 Daconi published a video of AZbox ME running Froyo on Youtube:

But in the end of november 2011 things got slowdown due changing policies on the site of SIGMA. At the first they presented this
AZbox.com published on their site this news about it.  SIGMA decided for example to stop the project mipsandroid.com .

But the ME is still one of the fastest settop boxes of this moment. The support of Opensat is still great at this moment and group of people around AZbox are so called willfull. AZbox Canada published in the beginning of februari this advertisement:

AZbox Canada and Opensat are working hard to present Android before the end of this summer.  We think it's dangerous to call dates, but it will come. Till that time there will be enough to play with AZtrino and (unofficial) Enigma. For coders: as written on the official website you can try and ask the source code.
