AzTrino 1.6 - North American edition for AzBox ME

To make it a bit easier to setup the AzBox ME for North American use, we at AzBox Canada have created a customised version of the AzTrino operating system. Based on the current 1.6 version, it includes the following enhancements:

- Numerous menu items and options were renamed in order to fix grammatical errors in English user interface.
- North American satellite list from 1W to 177W separated by band where applicable.

For all AZbox HD models ( Ultra, Premium(+) and Elite ) the RSi team released a new kernel for their OpenRSi firmware.

Cyrillic letter support for VFD

The Cyrillic letter support for VFD ( display on the AZbox ) is now added in the online update of OpenRSi images! This great news for Russian speaking users of AZbox. See the same links in the previous post for more information. See OpenRsi for more information how to use these great images.

AzBox Me RTi Core v1.8.1

Haven't test it but RTi brought us today a new RTi Core for AZbox ME. The greatest improvement is the blindscan. Enjoy!

Cyrillic letters support in OpenRSI for AZbox?

Coders are busy to implement Cyrillic letters support in OpenRSI for the AZbox. If this is going to succeed it's good news for Russian speaking AZbox users. This means that the display can show Cyrillic letters if it's gonna included in the OpenRSI firmware.

The VFD ( display ) has the capability to show the letters ( it's dot matrix ). It's looks it's going to end positive this development. When it's finished and tested well it will be hopefully / probably included in OpenRSI or can be downloaded as a patch.

RSI Team from the RSi images and the Openpli has taken the Dutch Opensat4all forum as their home forum. The developers from the RSi team reads overthere questions from the users and tries to answer them.

Explanation flashing AZbox ME

When you download firmware for the AZbox Me there are some differences. You can download firmware including a kernel (for example Rti), without kernel (example Rsi) or with a seperate kernel ( OpenRsi ).

If you want to know how to flash you'll need to know how flashing a ME works.
