Fact1: AZBox ME is sold in the beginning with the expectation that after AZtrino also Android would come.
Fact2: Sigma changed the policy so Opensat came in trouble with the
development of Android.
Questioning ( 5-6-2012 ) Opensat how it is with the development of Android gave us
this answer:
" as our last statement shows, we are not working on Android, at this moment. But as all our devices are opensource, community can, proactively, perform many surprises."
" as our last statement shows, we are not working on Android, at this moment. But as all our devices are opensource, community can, proactively, perform many surprises."
In other words Opensat has no plans yet with Android. We also asked AZbox
Canada for a reaction. We hope to hear soon something.
In our opinion it’s almost impossible without the support of Sigma/ Opensat to write drivers for Android, but who knows? At this time we say, don’t put your money on Android and enjoy Enigma2 or AZtrino, wich both Works very well in our opinion. The words of Opensat are clear, no official ( Opensat ) Android release.
We want to thank Opensat for the fast answer but want to say to Opensat: Android would be an unique selling point for AZbox ME. In fact, if we wanted only Enigma we've bought a Dreambox. We didn't forgot Premium and Elite ( twin?). Don't let us down again!
Update 18/6/12
We received an answer from Dr. Sat ( AZbox Canada ). They are saying, they are still working on Android. Well, we are hoping with you . It should be released this summer. Let's wait for an another 2 months and we will see. We still think Android would be unique selling point for AZbox ME.
Answer Dr.Sat:
Hello and thank you for contacting Dr. Sat. To our knowledge, AzBox Canada is still working on Android development for the AzBox Me. The team at AzBox Canada is working hard in making Android on the AzBox Me a reality.
